A candidate may perform their job safely and competently every day, but remembering the terminology, regulatory requirements, procedures, and detailed technical knowledge covered by a certification exam can still be challenging after that much time. This can be especially demanding for candidates preparing to recertify at Level 2, Level 3, or Level S, where the scope of knowledge is broader and more detailed.
We offer three focused refresher options so candidates can review the material most relevant to the certification exam they are preparing to write. Refresher courses are available online or in person.
Combined review for candidates preparing for Level 1 or Level 2 certification or recertification exams. Covers foundational asbestos awareness together with worker-level abatement knowledge, including recognition, hazards, controls, PPE and respiratory protection, safe work procedures, decontamination, and applicable worker responsibilities.
Advanced review for experienced abatement workers and supervisors preparing for Level 2 or Level 3 certification or recertification exams. Reviews worker-level procedures together with supervisory responsibilities, planning, controls, regulatory knowledge, and safe oversight of asbestos abatement work.
Surveyor-focused preparation for candidates preparing for the Level S certification or recertification exam. Review focuses on surveyor responsibilities, asbestos identification and assessment concepts, documentation, regulatory requirements, and other knowledge applicable to the surveyor pathway.
Group refresher rates are available for employers preparing multiple candidates for certification or recertification. Sessions can be arranged online or in person and scheduled around your crew and operational needs. 1 Asbestos Academy is authorized to provide Level 1 and Level 2 asbestos training. Our authorized Level 1 and Level 2 training is delivered in person only. An online refresher is preparation only and does not replace required in-person training.
The required Level 3 or Level S training is completed through a registered training provider. Once that training is complete, 1 Asbestos Academy can guide candidates through the remaining certification steps and administer the applicable WorkSafeBC certification exam.

No. The refresher is optional preparation intended to strengthen knowledge, revisit important concepts, identify areas that need more attention, and improve exam readiness. The WorkSafeBC certification exam is the formal examination required as part of the applicable certification pathway. With this package, the applicable certification exam is included in the $349.95 + GST price, but it remains a separate certification step with its own registration and eligibility requirements.
No. Completing the refresher portion alone does not issue certification. Candidates must still meet the applicable eligibility and registration requirements and successfully complete the required WorkSafeBC certification exam.
No. We cannot provide exam answers or disclose protected exam content. Refresher instruction focuses on reviewing and strengthening the underlying knowledge candidates are expected to understand.
