Lead training accommodates up to 16 workers per session. Ideal for larger renovation or demolition crews requiring team-wide compliance training.

Lead is present in many pre-1990 buildings and industrial environments. Any worker who may disturb, handle, or remove lead-containing materials needs this training.
This course is for you if you work in
- Renovation and remodelling of pre-1990 buildings where lead paint is likely present
- Demolition of residential, commercial, or industrial structures
- Painting and surface preparation where lead-containing coatings may be disturbed
- Industrial maintenance involving lead-coated structures, pipes, or equipment
- Manufacturing or recycling environments where lead materials are handled
- General construction on older buildings where lead-containing materials are encountered
- Environmental remediation and hazardous materials abatement
You will learn to
- Identify lead-containing materials and assess exposure risk
- Apply WorkSafeBC OHS standards for lead abatement work
- Set up containment areas and control zones
- Select and use appropriate PPE and respiratory protection
- Follow proper decontamination procedures
- Handle, package, and dispose of lead-contaminated waste in compliance with BC regulations
- Document lead abatement work to employer and regulatory standards

The one-day program is available via Zoom or in person at our Victoria and Surrey locations. Private group bookings can be arranged at your site anywhere in BC.

The following applies to all participants regardless of whether you are attending online or in person.
All participants
- Valid government-issued photo ID. Driver's Licence, Passport, or BC Services Card.
- For the online session: a laptop or desktop computer with a working webcam and stable internet connection. Cell phones are not permitted for the assessment.
- Course manual (provided and included in your course fee).

No refund policy
All course registrations and training payments are non-refundable. This applies to missed sessions, late arrivals, scheduling conflicts, and failure to meet ID requirements.
Rescheduling
At our sole discretion, participants unable to attend may be issued a training credit or seat transfer to a future available date. Credits hold no cash value and are non-transferable.
Private and group bookings
All private and group training dates are non-refundable. Reserved dates may not be cancelled without operational consequence. Additional fees may apply where travel costs have already been incurred.
Cancellation by 1 Asbestos Academy
We reserve the right to reschedule or cancel training due to insufficient enrollment, instructor illness, or operational requirements. Participants will be offered a transfer or training credit.
